In cheerleading classes, children learn cheers, chants, jumps and dances appropriate for practice/
performance anywhere and which may be shared with their park district or school team.  Children
also develop technical skill in the areas of motions, jumps, stunts & tumbling and all classes
incorporate flexibility, conditioning and strength training.  All classes are taught to USASF safety
standards and will prepare participants to perform well at the park district, school and all-star
competitive team levels, or may be taken "just for fun" by those who wish to enjoy the benefits
of this sport as an athletic activity without the commitment of team membership!

Cheerleading involves skill in multiple areas, including dance, stunting/climbing, jumps, motions and
tumbling. We support Levels based on tumbling skills, as these skills are all easily measured, can be
performed individually, and suggest safety limitations to be considered, unlike other cheerleading skills.

Level 1            Beginning.  No skills or experience required.  All 3, 4, 5's are Level 1.

Level II            Has forward roll, cartwheel, round-off and handstand without assistance.

Level III/IV      Has back handspring or round-off back handspring without assistance
and/or has back tuck or round-off back handspring back tuck or round-off
                        back tuck without assistance.
